Thermonics Gets a Warm Reception for its -80.0°C Chillers

Chillin’ at Chem Show 2017

Thermonics has wrapped up a successful exhibition at Chem Show 2017, the biennial Chemical Processing Industries (CPI) event held at the Javits Center in New York City. The show hosted more than 5,100 CPI professionals focused on what’s new in processing of fluids, powders, and gases.

Showcasing their -80.0°C line of ultra-low temperature fluid chillers, the Thermonics booth was right in the middle of the Chem Show buzz. “There’s an excitement with the rapid pace of technology, communications, and connectivity - the Industrial Internet of Things is connecting all the equipment and processes and opening up a lot of new applications for specialty systems like ours” said Bob Sandberg, Thermonics Product Manager.

Thermonics staff met face-to-face with scores of process engineers, executives, and plant managers, looking for solutions to optimize their process operations and sustainability. “We know they’re collecting data and metrics on every step of their process. everything is a ‘smart device’ today including industrial processing equipment,” remarked Sandberg, “and in many cases a chiller that can reach even lower temperatures or be even a bit more reliable, will make a huge difference for them and they already know it is based on the process metrics and data analysis.”

On the heels of recent deliveries to Defense, Semiconductor, Medical, and Automotive customers, Thermonics is optimistic about the prospects from the Chem Show. “An abundance of advancements in technology have led to a broadening of applications and unique needs that our chillers continue to serve,” said Chuan Weng, P.E. Chief Mechanical Engineer.
